Spanish Class Week Ending 5/12

Grade 5 – In class the students took their quiz on -ER Verbs. The grades are posted on to Option C, and overall the students did well and I am very proud of them.  Following the quiz, we went over any questions or concerns they still have over -ER verbs to make sure they have a full understanding. I then introduced -IR verbs for the students and we began applying our knowledge before class ended. There was no homework assigned tonight as we just began the new material.

Grade 2 – In class today, we practiced and explored our understanding of the Spanish Alphabet to prepare for next week’s test. The test will be a matching column where the students will match pictures (with words provided) to the Spanish letter. I will be using only words that we have been learning since this year began. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Grade 8 – In class the students took their quiz on -ER Verbs. The grades have been posted to Option C. Overall, the grades were good and I am quite proud of them as I know they were struggling with verbs in the very beginning. Following the quiz, we went over any remaining questions or concerns that they still had about -ER Verbs to make sure we are fully confident. I then introduced -IR verbs to the students and applied our knowledge of the material through generating simple sentences using the verb vivir. There was no homework assigned tonight as we just began the new material.

Grade 1 – In class we worked on the Letters Y and Z. Students practiced their writing and word association. For homework, they need to cut out the pictures and glue them to the appropriate box. Please note that in two (2) weeks (May 23, 2018) we will have a test on the Spanish Alphabet. I will be spending next class as a review with them to prepare them for the test.

Grade 3 – In class, we practiced for our Spanish Quiz next week. Our practice included a Jeopardy style game using the vocabulary. Students had to define words, use vocabulary to complete sentences, and practice their spelling via pictures of vocabulary words. The only homework is to study for their quiz next week.
