Spanish Class Week Ending 6/9

Grade 5 –

I cannot believe it is June already! As we finish out the school year in these final few weeks, I just want to take a moment to say I am proud of the growth and effort I have seen from all of the students this year. I set the expectation high for them, and they have put in so much effort to meet that expectation.

In class the students took their Test on Verbs that we have been learning since February. Some of the grades were not what I expected them to be. Just as a reminder that I will be dropping the lowest grade from this trimester when working on final grades. Additionally, I do account for participation, effort, and behavior in class.

As the test took the whole period, there was no homework assigned. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Grade 2 –

We continued our exploration of color vocabulary. Students were introduced to new color vocabulary today (morado, which means purple; and rosa, which means pink). We then completed a worksheet to apply our knowledge of the color vocabulary. The students then began a color related crossword puzzle which they are to finish for homework. Please note that for the crossword puzzle, the only word that they had not learned yet was brown in Spanish, which is marrĂ³n. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Grade 4 – The students took their test on Wednesday since they were not able to on Monday due to the New York State Science Exams. The grades will be posted later tonight on Option C. Please let me know if you have any questions.

The students took their test on -AR, -ER, and -IR Verbs. The students expressed they had needed more time than what was allotted during our class time. I spoke with Mr. Wasson and they were able to complete their exams immediately after lunch. I will begin grading them tonight and hope to have the grades posted to Option C tonight as well. Just as a reminder that it is my intention to drop the lowest grade from this trimester when working on final grades. Additionally, I do account for participation, effort, and behavior in class.
