CAST DESCRIPTIONS: Peter Pan -

To prepare, be sure to reference ONLY stage productions of Peter Pan. For Example - the original Broadway Production with Mary Martin - NOT the Disney movie or any new movies. HOWEVER, actors may want to watch some of the other films for character development AFTER  being cast.

*THIS SHOW HAS A LARGE SUPPORTING ENSEMBLE*

(ACTORS with DRUMMING SKILLS ARE ON OUR WISH LIST )

There will be a QUICK GENERAL DANCE audition on 10/3 - everyone “dances”  in this show!

Peter Pan

Peter Pan is the boy who would never grow up. He is  hotheaded, adventurous  but is also very caring. This actor can be commanding but also has the ability to capture tender moments. A boy or a girl can play the role. HOWEVER THEATER TRADITION HAS A GIRL PLAYING PETER - Peter Dances in UGG A WUGG

Peter Pan has definite singing requirements as well.

Tinker Bell

Tinker Bell is Peter Pan's fairy. For our production, she will be full-size and only able to speak through bells when in scenes, thus requiring PANTOMIME  (acting out words) and dance skills.

Wendy

Wendy is the eldest Darling child, a gifted storyteller with a maternal sensibility and can show emotion. Wendy sings several solos that are fairly high, so this  performer is  a confident singer with a decent singing range.

John

John is the middle Darling child who acts quite mature for his age. He is a smart, analytical thinker who is a natural leader while still being a kid at heart. While some solos are required, most singing is done in groups.

Michael

Michael is the youngest Darling child.  Sensitive and playful, this role is an opportunity to showcase younger actors who can keep up with the older kids in the cast. The role contains a few short solos,.and leading a dance break.

Mr. Darling

Mr. Darling is the Darling children's father. He is a moody, pompous man who actually has an extremely caring heart underneath it . This  performer cannot be afraid of physical comedy, crazy loud voices and being over-the-top.

Mrs. Darling

Mrs. Darling is  Wendy, John and Michael's mother. She is wise and maternal, the calming opposite to Mr. Darling's fussing. She must be capable of portraying a motherly command over her children and her husband and have a lovely singing voice.

Captain Hook

Captain Hook is a dangerous villain who seeks revenge on Peter Pan for the loss of his hand. The character  is pompous, gaudy and without a conscience . A strong character actor is needed. The performer should have good comedic timing and a big personality. While the role includes several solos, a strong character actor can easily act through them.

Tiger Lily- this role is for a GIRL DANCER who can carry a tune.

Tiger Lily is the Indian Chief's daughter. She is a strong and proud young woman, so the   performer must be confident and assured. She carries a solo in UGG A WUGG.

If you are auditioning for TIger Lily, you will be asked to submit a short dance audition video AFTER 10/3 audition.

SMEE

Smee is Captain Hook's right-hand man, and the show's comic relief. The role of Smee is another opportunity to showcase a comedic performer alongside Captain Hook. The role requires only group singing.

NOODLES

Smee’s assistant - comic relief and pantomime needed

Nana /Croc

One actor will play BOTH roles!

These are non-speaking roles.  Nana is the Darling children's nursemaid and a dog. The actor will be in a dog suit - will not speak and will act like a dog . This  performer cannot be  afraid of being physical.

The Crocodile ate Captain Hook's hand, and is now following him constantly  to eat the rest of him. This is a non-speaking role in a crocodile suit .

ADULT WENDY

A non-singing role appearing in the Epilogue Scene; the role is often played by Mrs Darling.

Jane

Wendy’s daughter, a non-singing role appearing in the Epilogue Scene - this actress will also be in the ensemble

THE PiRATES

Usually a group of bumbling grown men for comedic purposes  - the pirates for us may also include ladies and all will portray “pirates” as we usually think of them.

The Pirates are Captain Hook's roughhouse gang of henchmen. They are mean and gruff characters that do Captain Hook's bidding.COMEDIC AND FUN  singing and dancing involves ACRO skills help! – those cast as Pirate’s must be willing to be very  silly and lots of fun!

The Lost Boys

To hold to TRADITION these characters will be represented as BOYS - boy or girl actors should audition.

  • “Named “ Lost boys will be assigned during the rehearsal process.

The Lost Boys are Peter Pan's right hand boys. They are fellow orphans like Peter Pan, and together form his gang of faithful friends in Never Land - a willingness to sing and dance in UGG a WUGG is MANDATORY.

The Brave Girls

To keep to tradition these characters will be portrayed as GIRLS

The Brave Girls MUST DANCE -

The Brave Girls  are the native inhabitants in Never Land. They are led by Tiger Lily.

A CORE of dancers will be selected during the rehearsal process to dance behind Tiger Lily in certain moments.

Fairies and Forest creatures

These are roles for our youngest auditioners who may not be ready for roles with a lot of dialogue and directions.

Looking forward to another fabulous PRODUCTION !
